Unite is a modern trade union supplying services to and ensuring service industry workers get a fair deal.
The Challenge
To take a "back office" Access database system and build a web-based member management system that can be used both in the office and out in the field by the administrators, data entry operators and organisers.
Leverage the administrator's knowledge and past efforts in creating management reporting within the Access database.
The Solution
Use open-source tools to develop a member management system that was initially based upon the data stored and managed within the Access database.
The Result
An easy-to-use system that was produced for a fraction of the cost of similar systems in use. A system that can be used on the road which also provides the data for analysis and management reporting.
